Do you suffer from writer's block and what is it?

Oh boy! I've got to get this article finished and I have absolutely nothing to write. It just won't come.

You get the problem every once in awhile but maybe it's continually. You don't want it to happen, but there it is. The good ol dreaded.....

    WRITER'S BLOCK!!!

Yuck! I sit and think and think and the harder I try the less that comes out to put on that blasted page.

Writer's block can make anyone just want to go mad. You really want to write, but you just can't get it from your mind to the paper. It just gets to be a huge waste of time.

You breathe more shallow as you you stress about the situation you've found yourself in. You can't seem to snap out of it. Pounding your head on the table does nothing more than give you a big bad headache, because the writer's block is still there.

So how does this terrifying inability to write come to pass?

Well it could very well be fear. You fear what you have to do and the stress just turns your mind off. You might not think you really know how to write and you're afraid of what other's might think, so you have to perform. Or you might just be scared to death of writer's block itself.

Writer's block can happen to anyone in any situation. You may think you have to have a masterpiece or you will get picked apart by all the critics out there waiting to pounce on your next article.

Here are some great tips you can put into use right now to blast away writer's block forever.

You may not believe it but WRITER'S BLOCK CAN BE OVERCOME.

    Please, remain seated.

[1] Know your topic. If you prepare properly and really know your subject, you will likely have a lot to write about. Research will not only prepare you to write, but will bring you confidence. You'll know what you're talking about and it will come out.

[2] Forget about being perfect. Just sit down and write down what comes to mind. You may think this is ridiculous, because you can't think of any thing and that's why you have writer's block. Well I can bet there are thoughts to write down, but you are judging what should go down and what shouldn't. Don't! Just write. Any and every thought in any order, even if it seems silly. You do this and you'll be writing and you'll be surprised at what flows from your head to your hand.

[3] Don't edit while you are writing. This goes hand in hand with the last tip. Just let the thoughts flow without even focusing on any writing structure. Forget the spelling, grammar, sentence structure, etc. The idea is to write down your thoughts without any thought to the correctness of it. You can structure it later after you have the thoughts down on paper. Write like you are talking to a friend at a coffee shop. Just having a casual conversation.

[4] Forget about the first sentence. Overcome writer's block by writing down what comes to mind in any order. If you have a lot to talk about and it happens to be the end of the article, start with that first. No need for order. Again the idea is to just get it out and put it into sequence later. As you do this, you'll activate you mind and you'll start getting all the information coming out .

[5] Act as if. Act confident and as if you are the expert on the subject you are writing about. Believe you are a great writer and do and act the ways great writers act. This might sound silly, but this can be very powerful. All the talent is in you and you just need to bring it out.

[6] As the old Nike slogan says, "Just do it!" Don't procrastinate any longer. Keep all your information by your side and just start writing. If you don't know what to say, then use the ideas and thoughts of other. Nothings original and thoughts can't be copyrighted. Remember you don't want to copy anyone word for word because thats plagiarism and illegal. You take the thoughts of others and put them into your own words, add to it with your own ideas and experiences and your unique writing style. This then becomes your original work

In conclusion, you can implement these tips to get over writer's block. You might not think you have the greatest work around but that's okay. If you can teach, inspire and help somebody by what you convey on paper, you are a good writer. And the great thing is that the more you write the better you become. So get going okay.
