Common Hair Loss Cause In Women
Today 1 in 4 women will suddenly start to notice that they are losing more hair than would be considered normal. Often there are several different reasons, which have resulted in them losing hair. Below we look at the two main types of hair loss women may suffer from. Certainly the more a person learns the more they understand about the hair loss in women causes.
1. Androgenetic Alopecia, which is similar to that which men suffer from, however, in women rather than becoming bald it results in a diffused thinning of the hair on the scalp. In some cases the woman may actually suffer from a combination of two types of this hair loss problem and is caused by a number of different factors.
Normally the main reason for a woman to suffer from this form of hair loss will be that the hormones within their body are not functioning properly. In many cases their levels of DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) has increased and when this happens, it prevents hair growth from taking place.
However, as well as an increase in certain hormones in the body another main reason for a woman to suffer from this form of hair loss is due to their genetic makeup. In many cases, the woman's parents both have a gene that they have passed on and which results in hair loss.
2. Telogen Effluvium is caused when a woman goes through some traumatic event in her life. In many cases, women who have a traumatic childbirth, have been malnourished, undergo any form of major surgery, suffer severe stress, or an infection can see that they start to lose their hair.
The only difference between this type of hair loss and that mentioned previously is that usually a woman will notice a difference about 6 weeks to 3 months after the event has occurred. For some women the condition may be so severe that they begin to lose clumps of hair from particular areas of the scalp, rather than a general thinning of hair over the scalp as a whole. Nevertheless, with the right diagnosis and treatment, this can be brought under control and in most cases, they may find the condition goes into remission.
However, for some women the condition of Telogen Effluvium can be so severe that it becomes a chronic disorder and will persist for months or years. Unfortunately, for these women actually finding and understanding what is causing the problem to occur is the most difficult thing that they will face.
Above we looked at the two most common kinds of hair loss in women. Cause of the conditions of hair loss mentioned is varied and yours may be different from the ones mentioned above.
