How to be a Winner at the WSOP
Making it at the WSOP may be a stretch at this point in your poker career, but it doesn't have to always be that way. A good place to start trying to improve your game is the study of the players around you. You need to be the best player at the table and the best way to do that is to try to get an understanding of how the player across from you plays what cards and in what situations.
Always keep one eye on the players at the table. Become a student of watching people. Be looking for anything that tips off what the other players might be thinking or feeling. After some time being able to pick up on nervous twitches or any other tell will become second nature and wont have to be something that is actively done. This should be the ultimate goal in this area of poker.
One tool that is never given enough credit in poker is that when it is cheap enough you should sometimes call down your opponent even if you believe that you are holding the losing hand. This information can be of great use to you if you plan on sitting at the same table with the same players for a few hours or more.
Playing poker should be looked at like a war. You are not here to have fun, you are here to make money. You do not want to bring attention to yourself in anyway. Try to be in total stealth mode and stay under everyones radar. You want to stay low key and be in constant attack mode.
When playing a game of poker look for players who like to just call and check every hand. When you encounter one of these types of players do not give them any room to breathe. This type of player likes to play less then premium hands and if you do not attack them hard you run the risk of them out drawing you. Thereby giving away a hand and money that you could have won if you had just been aggressive with them.
If you put these tips into you current poker game you should see a marked increase in your profits and longevity. Be ready to attack, be patient and most of all study your opponents. Becoming a student of people and of the game will help you on your quest to become the next WSOP champion. With a little luck and hard work I know you can do it.
