White water rafting is one activity that will certainly bring your adventure level to a different height and provide a unique experience for you and those that you go with. Before setting off on a rafting trip, you should make sure that you plan your trip properly. This will not only mean packing the right things but going with a reputable company and some other things.

You should never risk going with an adventure company that you are not familiar with. Do some background research before signing up with any company. Know how long they have been in the business and how qualified their employees are. Check on equipment to be provided as well.

If you know where to then things will be just at your level; you don't want to end up in rapids that are way too hard for you that it will only scare you. If this is something that you have tried before or you ate a seasoned rafter then it would also be boring to go on something too easy.

Families and beginners can try out their hands on rivers that belong to class 1 and 2. Such rivers have very slight rough areas and will require little or no paddling skills. With more experience and know-how you can take on class 3 and 4 rivers which will have more waves and significant drops.

Those are seeking more adventure and are more experienced with rafting will find class 3 and 4 rivers better. Under these classes there may be more waves and some significant drops in the river. Maneuvering will definitely be needed to get around.

California can be an ideal place for White Water Rafting. It doesn't matter if you're new to this or have tried it out before. The best rivers to raft on are South Fork American River, the Kaweah River and the Tuolumne River. You won't need to worry about anything, there's something for everybody.

The South fork belongs with the North Fork River but is it is the most boated. It will provide you with a thrilling ride and beautiful views. Both the Tuolumne and Kaweah Rivers belong to higher class rapids and have great views as well.

When you've settled on all the details you're sure to get packing. Don't forget to bring along sun block and moisturizer, since the combination of sun, wind and water may not be very friendly on your skin. Make sure that the clothes you bring are light and will dry easily if they get wet.
