The wedding day is probably one of the best memories for people to want to hold on to And digital wedding photography has changed how wedding photographers can carry out this task ensuring the day is captured on for ever. Couples often have a DVD made as well so that even more of the happy occasion is captured.
Fortunately for wedding photographers they can use an assistant to help them get the right shots but if you're a friend taking pictures, then how do you get the good shots of the day? Well if you need some help for a wedding you are to attend and you are going to use a digital camera, then you may find some useful information in this article.
Many amateur photographers make the mistake of taking pictures with a boring background which is not something you want in a wedding photo. Often when there is a good background there are just too many people in the shot, so if this is the situation, just try and get close and capture a nice head and shoulders shot of the couple. This will eliminate a cluttered photo.
If there is bright sunlight or you are using flash, ask guests who are wearing glasses to remove them just for the shot or as an alternative they could turn their head slightly to the side. If there is someone in the group that you particularly want to take a photograph of but they are in a crowd then try using the zoom, it will give you a good close-up that you wouldn't achieve any other way.
Natural, wedding photos always look better than staged ones but are difficult to capture when you are to close so a powerful zoom lens is a great advantage. To avoid missing what will probably be great shots, don't put your camera down because with digital wedding photography you can guarantee the moment you do, something worthwhile will take place.
Digital cameras rely on two things, memory and power and the last thing you want when you are the photographer is to run out of memory or for the batteries to die on you. As a general rule, if your camera is a 6 mega pixel resolution then you will need a large storage capacity card that will hold a few hundred shots at high resolution so a 1 gigabyte card should be the minimum. A 2 or 3 gb card would be better.
If you going to have the picture blown up so you can make poster size photos, make sure your digital cameras resolution is set to maximum pixel. To do this you would want to save the the images to your computer or disk where you can print them or create the types of photos you want later.
Previous generations have grown up in days where film and exposure, and old styles of taking photos were the height of technology, and todays young people do not have a clue to those old techniques, so to them the advent of superior digital photography for taking wedding photograps is nothing super spectacular, if they only knew how good they have it.
