    Large Corporations are starting to see the benefit of stress management workshops in increasing employee efficiency. They see it as a chance to help people to unwind and de-stress in their usually stressful working environments, which can improve relationships between employer and employee.

    Generally stress management workshops are provided at no cost to the employees of the company. Companies see it as a way of increasing the quality of work life for each of its workers.

    Stress management programs or workshops can involve employees being pampered with things as lavish as life-spa type treatments or just 'time-outs' where they are free to do as they please in order to relieve some tension and stress. Usually a stress management consultant of some sort is involved in deciding what is offered.

    Some companies provide the option of employees, who do not need to be office bound, the option of working at home. It's an effective type of stress management program but it requires some careful planning before being offered.

    Almost everyone feels more relaxed at home than at work and with the added benefit of not having to drive to and from work in peak hour traffic, working at home could be the answer to stress relief. When implementing this, employers should consider that it could possibly reduce productivity.

    Employers who allow employees to work from home as part of a stress management program will have to take careful consideration as to how they go about managing the situation and it is the employees responsibility not to take advantage of the situation.

    When you think of all the serious health conditions and illnesses caused as a direct result of stress, it is not surprising that like stress management workshops are being implemented as a tool to combat stress in the workplace. Companies cannot afford the increasing absenteeism associated with stress.

    Individual companies or consultants offer stress management workshops with the intention to:

    1. reduce the amount of stress experienced by an employee in the workplace

    2. increase the productivity and work ethic of an individual in the office or workplace.

    Companies realize that a stress free employee is a happy employee and individuals who feel good about their work, company and themselves are more productive. This is the focus of a stress management workshop and when implemented correctly can have lasting benefits.
