Being in high school was fun and now most everyone you knew is doing something to learn a career. Maybe you didn't think college was for you or you just didn't know you were supposed to start making plans in your Junior or Senior years.
Attending a traditional college or university is not something everyone wants to do or can do. If that option is not for you there are still others to consider. Here are a few to think about.
Going Into The Military - There are many careers in the military that can give you the training and skills for a decent career after the military. You may also be able to earn money to help pay for college later.
Community or Junior College - There is a chance it is not too late to sign up for a junior or community college and these are usually easier to get into then a more traditional college. Depending on the time of year you may need to wait until the next semester to begin classes.
Trade Schools - Depending on the type of career you are looking at you may be able to complete a training or degree program from a trade school. These programs may only be a few months or maybe a few years long. Also depending on the school and career field new programs may be starting on a regular basis.
Being An Apprentice - There are different types of apprenticeship opportunities, they are not all like the TV show. Apprenticeships are more common in skilled blue collar type positions.
Even if you are no longer in high school or are getting ready to graduate, you still have options to move you toward a career. While it is true most people to plan to attend a 4 year college or university start taking steps when they are a junior or senior there are still options if you missed the boat. But act soon or you start to notice how quickly time can disappear on you.
Finding career training from a trade school close to home is most likely ideal. Several options such as business administration schools are available and can be completed relatively quickly.
