For most men, being romantic doesn't come naturally. In fact, as much as we try to "be cool", romance often makes guys down right nervous. It might be comforting to know, however, that those guys who seem to have it all together about women also get nervous sometimes when it's time to turn on the romance. Its just part of the way men and women are wired that girls naturally seem drawn to romance and guys have to work to get there.

But you can learn how to be romantic and how to know just exactly what the perfect thing to say is when the moments of romance are happening to you and your girl. And because you are thinking about it in advance, you will be prepared to say the right thing.

For starters think about all those romantic movies you have seen with your girl. That romantic actor up there always knows the right romantic words to say doesn't he? Of course he is working from a script. But when you think about it between the movies, love songs on the radio, romantic cards you read when its time to give one to your gal and television, we hear romance all the time. So there is plenty of material in these sources to start getting some good ideas of the kinds of romance talk you may want to start developing in your own love life. You can even keep a card file of your favorites to review just to get romantic language in your head before going on your next date.

Well, there is no harm in doing a little homework. After all, if you don't walk around all day thinking lines that would fit in a romantic song, don't be too hard on yourself. Most guys need to shift gears to think of how to express the feelings we have inside for the girls we adore. And reading romantic poems and collecting your favorite lines will give you ideas on how to empress those thoughts.

But there is a "trick" to how to say just the right thing to your girl. It has to be natural and it has to be from your heart. Don't just show up at the door of your next date, produce your three by five card and read the refrain from the last song you saw bring tears to her eyes. That would be awkward and, well, phony. And being phony is actually quite a bit worse than not saying anything romantic at all.

So the clue its time to say something romantic comes when those feelings come up inside you for her during the date. By putting your mind in a romantic mood like your heart is in, you can just put in words the feelings you have very naturally in your own words, not somebody else's words. Don't worry. If it isn't all flowery and sound like something from a movie, she will know it's from your heart and she will absolutely love it.

Your lover knows when you are being genuine and honest with her. Women have a sixth sense about such things so by simply using the feelings you already have, what you will say will be "just right" and it will take you into the romantic time of your date just like you want it to.

The "trick" of getting really good at coming up with perfect romantic words is that they are already in you, you just have to find the boldness to speak them to your girl. Its odd to say but allowing yourself to be romantic takes some bravery for a man. But you know you have often had a romantic thought in your head like "She has never looked so beautiful" and you just never expressed it. For women, expressing romance and emotions is natural but men are just as instinctive about hiding those thoughts. So to become the romantic guy your girl deserves, you must "reprogram" yourself to express your feelings of romantic emotion when they happen.

It might be as you cuddle watching sunset and inside you feel that you want that moment to last forever. You will have to build a superhighway between the feeling of that emotion and the saying of it. But once that feeling comes out of your mouth, in words that you use and phrases that are natural to you, they will go right to the heart of your girl.

Finding the right thing to say inside is opposite from just learning how to say phrases that are romantic from the movies, love songs or other people. You have a bumper crop of romantic ideas in your heart that just have not let out yet. But once you train your mind and heart to let your sweetheart know your feelings and desires, you will naturally become a guy who can use romantic words with the best of them. But your romantic thoughts won't just be empty phrases, they will be genuine expressions of real romance that you and your lover experience together.
