There are probably several reasons why we lie to our better half. I'm sure a lot of us do tell little white lies to our spouse once in a while. Spouses lie because they do not want to have any confrontations or they might be hiding something from you.

When your better half starts lying to you because they are hiding something, that is the time that a little more detailed digging is required. But before you dig a little bit deeper, be sure that you are prepared to accept whatever you find out.

One method that I use is I pay attention to their facial muscles and body language. Your spouse's body movements will tell you a whole story which is far from what they are actually saying to you. Pay close attention to their brows and forehead and you will know what I am talking about.

Signs That Your Spouse May Be Lying

* Nobody has to defend the truth, so why would they? If your husband or wife starts to defend an excuse then it's probably all made up.

* If your husband or wife says that they went out with their friends, just casually ask them about where they have been. If they say they had dinner, ask him what did he eat. Ask him simple questions casually and they should be able to answer you instantly without thinking about it much.

* During your casual conversation, look out for signs or tension in their facial muscles and their shoulders. This usually indicates that they are not comfortable with the subject you are asking.

* If they get tired with your questions, your spouse may show some irritation but they should never get angry because of your simple questions. Sudden outbursts of anger is definitely not a natural reaction.

I have to remind you that these signs are not fool proof and you may have to combine it with other factors before you make further conclusions. But once these reactions pile up over the other, then your spouse might be really lying because they are hiding something. Make a mental note, keep your cool, and prepare yourself for a whole lot of detailed digging.
