    A very common side effect of any breakup is anger. You may be at angry with yourself, with your ex, your ex's friends or your friends. Anyone that you feel interfered with or contributed to the breakup. This anger can come become deep-seated and have a very negative affect on you and on your chances of getting your ex back.

    Allowing yourself to be driven by anger and jealousy will not help you.

    Becoming jealous, letting anger control you, will only ruin your chances of getting your ex back

    So now, before you make any attempt to get your ex back you must calm yourself.

    This may not be easy to do. Most of us have a running commentary going on in our minds that is not always easy to control. There are a few things you can try that may help you to get control of your thoughts.

    Just Say No

    This may sound simplistic, but it works. Refuse to give in to negative thoughts. As they enter your mind just gently usher them right out again. Don't give them any room in your mind. After a time they will start to disappear.

    Speak With A Higher Force

    It can be very helpful to humbly ask whatever spiritual force you understand to exist to please help you to calm your mind. I have found in my life that prayer will do nothing to help you win the lottery but it is very helpful when you ask for emotional guidance.

    Control Thoughts With Meditation

    Try thinking no thoughts at all. Sit quietly and let any thought that enter your mind simply flow out again. Practice this and it can be very calming.

    Try Exercise

    Vigorous exercise can be miraculous when trying to get your thinking under control. It doesn't matter what you do as long as it takes some concentration and makes you sweat. Swimming is a favorite of mine. With regular exercise your thoughts will be easier to control and you'll sleep like a baby, too.

    If you feel good in mind and body you will have the best possible chance of getting your ex back. If you are negative, angry and needy no one, including your ex, will want to be around you. Banish negative thoughts and you have taken an important first step toward getting your ex back.
