When pursuing a no contest, or no fault divorce, it is vital that your paperwork is presented correctly, and more importantly your States version of the divorce form.

This is a very common issue, people tend to believe that their is one form for the whole of the USA.

Now that all 50 states are involved in the no fault divorce option (with NY being the last to agree), a divorce can now be sorted out with little fuss, and you may not even need a lawyer if you are feeling brave.

There is little paperwork involved, obviously the correct form being essential, plus you may be subject to resubmission fees if the forms/or form itself is incorrect.

My recent divorce went without a hitch, and even smoother than the marriage, if that's possible? What helped was the fact that we had both prepared, we each knew what we wanted to walk away with, and had a lawyer do the filing, and only that, as I didn't feel confident enough for that.

My wife (ex) was excellent and seemed at ease with the law and the locale. Whereas I was a total wreck; all sweat and terror, as I hate speaking in front of any formal gathering however informal they may try and make it seem.

She walked away with half of our stuff, and I did the same except I had a small (well small in lawyer terms) legal bill for the filing process.

This can be done, and you can do it too, all it takes is a little co-operation between you and your soon-to-be ex-partner in the early stages (this can be the most painful part of the process), some thorough reading/research, some confidence, and a bit of your valuable time.

Is this too much to ask? You could walk away with your bank account, credibility and your new life in tact.

Isn't that a bargain for such a little bit of effort.
