Today I want to talk about online dating, the do's and don'ts and what it takes to have a good, safe online experience in the wide world of online dating. Are you tired of the same old local scene, which usually involves a smoky bar or some sort of marathon speed dating session? If so, then the internet world may be just what you are looking for.
Do you live in a small town and know everyone around for miles? Is your dating pool limited? If so then looking for love on the internet may be just what you need to find that someone special. Why not take a chance and see what or who you come up with? read my tips below to help you find a successful match.
It doesn't matter if your gay, bisexual, straight, into kink or looking for someone with the same religious values as yours. They can all be found online any day of the week. Many Online Dating sights are gearing themselves toward particular types of people so that their members have more success at finding a compatible mate.
First impressions are so important, and you only get one chance to make a first impression. Choose photos of yourself that are flattering and fun. Girls, take the time to do your hair and put on a little makeup. Don't post a picture of your self bumming around in sweats with your hair pulled back in a pony tail. Guys, post a nice picture of yourself as well, don't put a picture of your self after youve been out mowing the yard. If you like snowboarding post a picture of yourself with your board heading up the hill to go snowboarding or getting ready to take a ride down the hill.
Always be honest in your profile. You know you don't want to find out later someone was less than honest in their profile. Give them the same courtesy you want for yourself. Check your spelling and grammar, so many people will not give you a second look with a lot of mis-spelled words in your profile.
Always protect your personal identity, never give anyone information that could lead them them tracking you down when you don't want them to. Never give out your last name until you have talked with someone many many times. I would advise against telling anyone where you live specifically, where you work or go to school. It may save your life.
When and if you do decide to travel to meet someone, keep your guard up at all times. This may include staying in your own hotel room while on your visit, renting your own car during the visit and letting several people know where you will be staying and the name and address of the person you are visiting.
Don't get yourself stuck somewhere you find out you don't want to be. You call the shots and if you're uncomfortable, leave. If you find yourself in a situation where you need help, don't hesitate to call the police. Always, always, always keep your cell phone handy. It could save your life. Best tip of all, just enjoy it and be your self. Happy dating!
