One of the most exciting moments in dating Ukrainian brides is planning your first arrival to Ukraine and the first meeting with your online date, face to face. Of course each of you has certain expectations and hopes, and possibly some fears, too. Though, as you would definitely learn later, not all your expectations would come true and not all your fears would be justified.

Nonetheless, there could be some issues that you might encounter during your first date with your Ukrainian bride that you never thought would cause you problems. Some matters concerning cultural differences may seem unimportant to you in the beginning, just to discover later on that it could really be adverse to your relationship. Let us take note of some of these issues that need your utmost attention.

Dress code. Some men, especially those from USA, may be a bit shocked by the dress style/sense of Ukrainian ladies, because it can be called anything, but conservative. Most Ukrainian ladies prefer to wear very fashionable but quite 'immodest' clothes. They are not ashamed to demonstrate the beauty of their bodies. However, this does not mean they are available sexually. Most women here would not consent to have sex on first dates and some would not have sex with a man they are not engaged or married to.

Now, dating Ukrainian brides, you have to realize that at times your dress style may shock them as well. Lots of American and European men prefer to wear casual or sports clothes. For instance, French men love wearing corduroy pants, while Americans love wearing jeans and shorts. However, such casual clothes may seem to your Ukrainian lady inappropriate for dating activities, such as dining out, theatre night, etc.

Smiling and chewing gums are both regarded as part of American culture. It is not unusual for Americans to chew gum and smile at everybody in all places. Americans consider the Ukrainians a bit morose as they do not do so. Ukrainians also do smile a lot and have fun, but only with people they know. If you persist on smiling to everybody, even to people you do not know in public places, Ukrainians may take you as a bit weird, and your lady might think the same.

As for the chewing gum, Ukrainians, especially the older ones, consider it bad manners to talk to someone and chew gum at the same time. People consider it as an annoying and bad habit.

Flowers. When dating Ukrainian women never give them even number of flowers, because such bouquets are given only for funerals. Also avoid giving them yellow flowers, because here yellow is the color of separation. A superstitious lady may consider it to be a bad sign or a bad luck.
