Microsoft unveiled the Zune as a means of enjoying mobile entertainment- primarily for listening to music and audio tracks. But for the average Zune user, the novelty gets old quick. What kinds of accessories and add-ons can one buy to help spice up the Zune, and are they worth the price?

The first way to stylize one's Zune is to buy a personal cover. These covers are commonly called "skins," and go over your Zune to help protect it from scratches and falls. If you can't find the style that fits your personality, the Internet has many websites that cater to the sole purpose of providing Zune skins- with some even letting users to upload their own designs for ordering.

For those who like sharing their music with friends and family, the Zune FM radio transmitter might be a good add-on to invest in. It works by transmitting FM radio signals to the nearest radio received, which will then play the music that the Zune is playing. This innovative device allows anyone with a Zune to easily share music with friends any where a radio is present.

For audio and visual buffs, the Zune also has the travel pack and A/V pack to invest in. Both packs give the Zune added functionality for better sound quality, hookup to external devices, and an overall easier experience for the Zune user. Of course this usually requires that one has access to devices in which to hook to the Zune, such as an external stereo or speaker system. Either way, this is a great way to get phenomenal sound out of one's Zune player.

If you aren't necessarily the type that wants to carry cables around in bulky packaging, you may wish to invest in the Zune docking accessories that are available. Most commonly, there are stereo systems and docking platforms custom made to cater to the Zune. It is literally as simple as putting your Zune into the platform and listening to your music on high-grade speakers- all without complex wiring schemes or carrying around bulky wires!

Of course not every situation allows for one to carry around their speakers. Often times, speakers are too bulky to take on travels and excursions. If that is the case, high grade earphone pieces are specifically designed for the Zune, in which offer a superior listening experience. These earphones likewise cost more than the normal earphones, but they are truly a wonder to behold.

    Final Thoughts On Zune Accessories

Microsoft released the Zune in hopes that it would send the audio community spiraling into an obsession- and that it did. But once things start to get stale, it's time to kickstart the functionality of the Zune with the hundreds of accessories available for it. Anything from the FM transmitter to custom designed Zune skins will spice up one's Zune in unforgettable ways.
