Its not easy to forget the heyday of the transformers. Obviously the recent movie that came out created new fans of the genre, but nothing can quite beat the good old days of the 1980s.
I even remember when I had to run home from school just so I can catch the beginning of the show. I was angry that the show started 3:30 and school wasn't over until 3:20. It only gave me just 10 minutes to high-tail it home.
But when I finally made it home, I could sit down and watch the show and I was in my own little world. The show was like a masterpiece for the a young child. Even though you always new the autobots would be victorious over the decepticons, you couldn't help but get into every story.
But if there was one thing better than the Transformers TV show, it was the Transformers toys. I was hooked on them. I don't want to say I had if youit would be worth now.
What was funny too were the cheap knock offs the "Go Bots". My goodness, they were horrible toys. If you looked at them too long, they would break. If you were a kid from the 80s, you were definitely playing with Transformers.
The transformers were just way ahead of their time. Sure, most people can come up with an idea for a robot to transform into a vehicle. But what about 5 or 6 that can transform together to form one big robot? Luckily, Hasbro did.
I dind't spend any of my allowance until I could afford to buy every Construction in the series so i could I use them to form Devastator. It was really a great marketing ploy by Hasbro. Kids ate it up. I know that I did.
But anyway you slice it, you can be sure there will never be toys like that anymore.
Were you a big time admirer admirer of the original transformer action figures, then make sure to checkout my website full of transformers G1 toys.
