Along with an organic natural baby soap being safe for your child's skin, it is also kind on the environment as well. The reason why such soaps are safe to use on children is that they contain no artificial ingredients, which can cause their sensitive skin to become irritated.

As you will soon discover there are numerous different types of natural organic baby soaps that one can select from today. However, you may find that there are some that are better suited to your child than others. But along with these kinds of soaps being safe for use on young babies and children, these can also be ideal for other members of your family as well.

The problem with actually purchasing commercially made organic soaps is that they are more expensive than other ones that are not. So if you would like to use only natural products on your child's skin and save yourself money as well you could always have a go at making your own soap instead. All you will need is a few pieces of equipment including a couple of saucepans, some gloves and goggles as well as the natural ingredients. Below we take you through the steps of making your own natural organic baby soap.

Step 1 - First, you will need to measure out all the ingredients in order to make your soap. For this particular soap recipe, you will need 15oz of olive oil, 5oz of palm oil and 5oz of coconut oil all of which should have been organically grown. As well as the oils, you will need 8oz of distilled water and 3.5 oz of lye.

Step 2 - Next, you need to prepare the lye you do this by adding it to the water and once it comes into contact with a chemical reaction occurs. As the lye comes into contact with the water it actually makes it heat up and it is best if you carry out this step outside because the mixture also lets off fumes. Once the lye has been thoroughly mixed with the water, you need to let it stand in order for it to cool down. It is best to let it reach room temperature before you start the next step of the soap making process.

Step 3 - Once the lye mixture has reached room temperature you can now very slowly begin to add the other ingredients (oils) that are mentioned above to it. First of all these need to be heated before they actually get added to the lye mixture and it is a good idea to have a thermometer that you can use to ensure that they have reached the right temperature.

Step 4 - As soon as the oils have heated up you remove the pan from the heat and then very slowly begin to stir in the cooled down lye mixture. If you want, you can either mix the soap together by hand or use a stick blender instead. Blending the mixture together by hand will take around 1 hour before the mixture is ready to be poured into a soap mould. However using a blender can save you not only a lot of energy but time as well. You know when the mixture is ready becomes it has become much thicker and opaque to look at.

Step 5 - However if you are stirring the mixture by hand it can take up to an hour before the mixture is ready for being able to transfer to a soap mould. But once it is then you will need to leave your organic natural baby soap to stand for the next 24 hours in order for it to harden and then after this you will be able to use it.
