Organic baby toys are now becoming increasingly popular with parents because they are not only safe for the child to pay with, but they are also much kinder on the environment as well. Yet although they may be made using organic materials these toys can still provide a young baby with hours of fun.
Today one has a wide choice of different types of organic toys to select from. You can either go for those made from wood or those made using natural cottons and other natural materials. The main advantage of these types of toys over many of the more commercially made ones is that they are free of chemicals and so putting them in their mouths will not cause them any harm.
When looking to buy any kinds of organic baby toys for your child there are certain requirements that need to be met for them to be classed as such. Below we take you through some of these requirements that should hopefully help you when it comes to finding out whether the toy you want to purchase is an organic one or not.
If you are considering buying any kind of wooden toy just because it says on the label it is natural do not take this as being gospel. Unfortunately although the toy is made using wood it may not be organic as the wood will have been bleached using chemicals in order to retain its natural appearance.
Also when you buy any toy that is labelled as being organic you especially in relation to wooden ones you need to read it carefully. As well as looking for those that have made using organically grown sustainable wood the processes to produce the toy should be completely natural as well. Look only for those that clearly state that no harmful chemicals or equipment that can harm the environment have been used during the toys manufacture.
Another thing to be aware of when buying a wooden toy is what paints have been used on it in order to decorate it. Those that are organic should be toys, which have paints made from only natural ingredients, pigments or colors. Often you will find on the label that the paint is being described as lead free and therefore is much safer for them to handle than others.
We all know how much children love stuff toys, which they can hug close to them and provide them with a kind of security blanket. But again you need to be aware of what materials and processes have been used in order to make them. Look for those where all the materials that make up the toy including the stuffing have been from natural cottons or other natural materials (silk). This will ensure that no chemicals will have come into contact with them.
A great way of finding out more on how to distinguish organic baby toys from non-organic toys is by going online. There are plenty of sites that now offer practical advice and information as well as details of where such toys can be purchased from. This is also the ideal place for purchasing toys from as well.
There are a wide range of organic baby toys now being sold at online stores. Many of these will sell other organic baby products such as clothes and skin care products from which you can choose whats right for your baby.
