The title of a website is of high importance and many people overlook their website's title. People will only look at websites that contain something that pops out at them, keep that in mind when coming up with a title .
The title is what attracts people to your website and tells them exactly what you have. It needs to also be a good title that will rank high in the search engines, this way your website will pop up more often than others when searched. You need to take time and consider the title in all its entirety. You want to be sure the title tells your prospective clients, exactly what you can offer them while at the same time making it Web friendly for the search engines.
When creating a website, you shouldn't give it a title of just your company name, since this will not entice people to click on the website, or give information about what you can offer them. Take for instance if you're looking for discounted pet food and you come across a site called Joe's pet shop, chances are you won't click on that website. A website that includes in its name discountedpetfoods, is one you would click on as it describes the products you are searching for.
When selecting a name for your site remember to use related keywords. Keywords are the words that are used in when someone does a search with a search engine. As an example, if you're searching for bargain dog food, don't put in Joe's pet shop when performing your search. The only thing to call it would be, cheap dog food.
You'll increase your search engines rankings if you take the important step of including keywords in the beginning of your title. Some people even consider putting in the main keyword twice. That can be a little tricky to do as you don't want to sound redundant but it is possible to do it. The top reduced dog food on the internet is discounted dog food. Though each key word appears twice in there, it actually comes out as a statement than repetitious.
Make sure that you have a catchy title that will get people to want to see what your about. The less persuasive your title is the less traffic you will have. You must try to communicate the gist of your message in no more than sixty-five characters. Search engines generally have a limit on the length of the title that shows in their search engine results. Google only shows the starting 60 to 66 letters so this is why it is necessary to be sure your most important statement takes up as small an area as it can.
It isn't a good idea to include secondary keywords in your title. These can be used on your main page with ease so save your title for what is really important. You need to keep it short and sweet. You don't want to sound like one of those phony sales people, like, but wait.. there's more if you call in the next 5 minutes!
