A lot of people have sought my advice over the years. They want to boost the economy and help depressed areas develop business solutions for long-term gain. Yet for all their planning, most don't know the difference between a job and a business.
If you have a job, you trade your time for your employer's money. Think about that - you are trading a very precious commodity, your time, for something of limited value, the cash. On the other hand, if you have a business, the profits are unlimited. Trying to attract jobs to a town is not a good answer for the economy - attracting more business, on the other hand, is very good!
But if you really want to transform the economy of a community, then teach the people in that community to think entrepreneurally. Teach them to find a niche, find the needs in that niche and then fulfill that need for a profit.
"So, you are saying teach this to the whole town?"
Really, you can. Start with the niche you know best, your own customers. Help them to learn more and earn more, and they will become loyal long-term clients. From there, share the word with your friends, your church, and more. Like ripples on a pond, the word will spread until you have taught the whole town to make amazing profits in their business.
This won't happen overnight. Keep working at it - offer free courses and help others succeed. When they ask, you can tell them that Jesus is the Lord of your heart, your business, and yes, even their business.
Search out special-interest groups on the internet, as this will help you find internet niche markets. Use the tools on www.surveymonkey.com to create and distribute a survey to help you discover what customers in each group really want. Using that information, look for affiliate programs associated with that niche.
You will find more products to fill that need than you can shake a stick at! Put up a web page with those products and add some "buy it" buttons, invite that group to your web site and then collect their emails so you can tell them more about their niche every week.
As part of a special-interest group, these folks are passionate about their interest. Use those emails to speak to that interest and offer them solutions to problems. That will help you to make amazing profits with your online business.
