Throughout history, there have been many times when a small company came out of no where with a product that swept the nation. There is no stopping your business from doing the same thing. When you have a great staff that is willing to pitch in and work together, you can accomplish anything.
When your business has a big goal to reach together, everyone has to do their part to accomplish it. You can think of the business' goal as the long term goal, and you can further break that goal down into pieces. Each person will be assigned a piece of that big goal. When each person accomplishes their small goal, the big goal will be realized.
This goal setting should be done as a team. Each person should know who is responsible for the other parts of the goal. When everyone knows what is going on and how the project is shaping up, they can work on their piece of the project more efficiently. You can help your employees reach their goals by keeping them motivated, productive, and positive.
Keep morale high by challenging your employees with small side projects and rewarding them whenever the reach a stairstep goal.
When your employees are motivated, they are naturally more productive. Assigning them goals in the first place also helps out on this. If you have ever been someone's assistant, you know how much more productive you can be when you fully understand the assignment you have been given.
The attitude that the leader of the group has will naturally rub off on the others. So be sure that you come to work as positive and upbeat as possible, working hard to avoid acting angry, frustrated, or overly stressed while on the job. Attitudes are always contagious make sure your entire staff is infected with a positive one.
Small companies are completely capable of accomplishing truly great things. But a leader with a negative attitude who treats their employees poorly and fails to meet important deadlines will affect everyone very negatively. Instead, let your good example show employees the high standard of work you expect from them.
On the other hand, if you have a winning attitude, go after your goals with confidence and praise your staff, they will do the same. By working together, your small business can accomplish many big things.
