Why is it we always associate making money on eBay and with business generally with hard work and subsequently something we shouldn't enjoy? So many people believe it is not possible to do something you really enjoy and make money at the same time.
I have noticed the cynical attitude of people with regards to the thought of having a good time. People believe they should feel almost guilty if what they do to make money is enjoyable and they should stop doing it and get real job.
But if you look at the most successful people who make money on the internet they all do it and have a lot of fun in to the bargain.
When talking to successful internet enterpreneurs it's clear they can't understand why people have such a hang up with having fun and choose instead to build a proper bricks and mortar business or a drudge job.
It's almost as if we are expected by society to work our butts off until we reach retirement and then retire. Most of us in almost poverty with barely a few dollars in our checking acccounts and our IRA's.
However on the other side of the coin are those who enjoy making their money. On the whole they are more content, less stressed. With their bank accounts full and their sanity in tact they could not care less about working to retirement as they face every single day with renewed challenge and enthusiasm. Why retire from that?
Lets for example take the idea of making some serious money on eBay.
Most people fall into two categories here: those that believe that they need to muster some kind of superhuman capacity and those that believe that they cannot begin to compete with the big fish in this giant entrepreneurial pond. Both end up in the same place. Unsuccessful.
This is the biggest challenge for those who coach others on doing business on eBay. What they come up against is a level of seriousness that stands in the way of the fun that is an integral part of any virtual business.
Those who make it on eBay have to be creative; they have to be thinking outside the box. And, the thing about seriousness is it's a great big box that people get stuck inside of.
"I think a lot of people think too big to start," says Chris Lakey, one of today's top Internet marketing professionals. "They think they have to have everything figured out..."
Having spoken to a number of highly successful players on eBay the one thing they all said about newbies was they feel intimidated when they start to think of the millions of dollars some people are already making on eBay. Their first reaction is one of excitement the second one of sheer terror.
But the most important thing is just to start the ball rolling. There is nothing wrong with thinking big but be happy to start small, then build to a bigger business step by step as you go.
So don't stress just get out there and start having some fun on eBay and who knows you might be suprised at how easy making money and having fun as well can be?
