Why am I recommending throat exercise for TMJ and for snoring the jaw exercises? It really doesn't make any sense, isn't it ? If you had a backache won't you entirely focus on to your back? Or, if you had a headache won't you simply focus on to your head? But of course, if you are suffering from high blood pressure , all you want to do is lower it , am I correct? I think that the traditional health system is been ruined by this type of approach. Muscle is not an island, neither a nerve nor a bone or a limp. Each and every cell in our body is connected to one another. Every single cell (millions of them) in our body has the exact same DNA structure,but the cell outside our body does not have the exact DNA structure. Isn't that great? (maybe I am getting a bit genius). In any case, our body works in equilibrium. Today, I took my 8 years old daughter to see the chiropractor. He said that one of her leg has appeared to be a little shorter than the other. After he adjusted it they were both of the same height. So, there was not problem after that. ...as it was configured in time! He said this often happens in all kind of kids games. And she probably wouldn't have noticed anything for years. But she wouldn't have carried her body quite right. She would have began to put wrong weight on a wrong muscles and bones. And maybe after the age of 30 , 40 or 50 years - she might begin to experience knee , back and hip problem,or, even neck problems, headaches or TMJ. It's very likely that something similar happened to you when you were a kid. It probably happens to most of us. Something small sets our body out of balance. It isn't big. Maybe not noticeable. But little by little we add on it. All of a sudden, the pressure does increases and something comes up. We don't get sick all of a sudden - unless we have an accident. There is always something that has been brewing underneath. Usually for years. So that brings me back to my original question... " Why do I often recommend the exercising of the muscles which have no relation at all with the problem area?" Taking TMJ for example. TMJ is a condition where the jaw joints are dislocated or are not in position which causes tension in the jaw muscles. This results in to a horrible headache, drowsiness, blurry vision, inability to eat or talk and many other hundred of symptoms. TMJ cases are usually not the same. But the solution is always the same... I recommend special Jaw, Tongue, Throat and Neck exercises. Now it's quite obvious to answer as to why do I always recommend the jaw exercises. By strengthening and loosening up the jaws muscles, these muscles often guides the jaw into its healthy natural position. But why on earth do I recommend throat exercises? Because the muscles around the throat are directly connected to the jaw muscles. So is the Tongue muscle and of course the neck muscles. So if you do not loosen up and strengthen these muscles, their tension will keep on pulling on the jaw muscles and keep it from becoming healthy muscles. The exercise for TMJ is the same as in my stop snoring program. The reason for the same type of exercise for different conditions is that as it occurs in the same area. So, it is important to loosen up the throat muscles in order to make the jaw muscles functional and it is also very important to loosen the jaw muscles in order to make the throat muscles functional and open the throat which leads to cure snoring. So, I take it to be an example. I always focus on the whole body, it does not matter I am dealing with what condition. To cure migraine you need to train yourself to breath deeply. You should also make it sure that the muscles controlling your breathing are very strong and are flexible. You should always aim big. As each and every person does affect one another,next to each other, every cell, muscle, bone and nerve affects the object next to it.
