It is hard to ignore the various diet or diet pill products blatant claims and promises of weight loss with the greatest of ease without any effort, diet change or exercise. It is also disturbing to see how the technological age has accelerated the evolution of human slothfulness. And to know that because of this, many people ascribe to these highly questionable products. Yes, it would be a wonderful thing for a busy Mom to just take a pill and burn the baby fat but convenience doesn't necessarily make us any healthier. Facing a personal challenge like losing pregnancy weight the healthy way can only make you stronger as a person and a Mother in ways that could very well surprise you. Lose the Weight by Loving You A mother loves her children unconditionally. Do you love yourself unconditionally? Warts and all, you are who you are and that goes beyond being a Mom. Losing pregnancy weight must start with being able to accept the "you" outside and the "you" inside. Whether, you are in or out of shape, true happiness is accepting and loving you. Love will help you to be intrinsically motivated to reach your goal. Going about it the healthy way will require, as they say, "no pain, no gain". As a Mother you have faced and overcame many challenges running a household. But this one is personal. You have to courageously fight the temptation to procrastinate, give up or cheat with a quick-fix diet pill to trim your tummy. If you can readily cope with the responsibilities of being a Mom for your family, then why not cope with getting fit and healthy for you? Be Honest with yourself Loving yourself also means being honest with who you are and what your capabilities are regarding weight management. It means being able to set realistic goals to lose your tummy and to make healthy lifestyle choices. It means being able to know your weakness and finding the tools to overcome them. It means being able to know your strengths and using them to your advantage. It means being able to judge your actions fairly and to make the wise choices to make your goal to lose weight after giving birth a long-term investment. Know Thyself How many of us truly know ourselves? When you love yourself, you will know how to avoid the things that hinder you and to embrace the things that help you. The same would apply to burn the baby fat. You would know to avoid the things that would tempt you to self-sabotage your diet and exercise regimen. Or you would know to avoid the external cues that trigger an emotional eating binge. You would know to capitalize on your excellent cooking ability to make delicious healthy meals. Or you would have the foresight to take advantage of your love for the outdoors by doing more physical activities with your family. Love yourself and find out who you are. Knowing and loving yourself will make the task to lose weight more fruitful and long lasting.
