Having those sexy six pack abs you so desire is quite attainable once you understand how your body works and what has the most impact.

Since today there are so many ab machines proclaiming to give you the sexiest abs EVER, it's pretty tricky to know which ones to believe and which ones will end up being a complete waste of time, energy, and money.

That's why I'm here to tell you 3 ways you can lose a ton of money on purchases of ab exercise equipment in hopes that you won't do it.

    1. Buying some ab roller contraption as seen on those late night infomercials instead of buying a stability ball.

What the ab gadgets DON'T do:

-work all of your core muscles (no matter what the promotion says)

    - promote belly fat loss

-give you anymore of a workout than a standard crunch that you can do for free

Here's what the stability exercise ball DOES do:

-makes you use all of your core muscles for balance during the exercises

-it's mobile enough to use with many different exercises that encourage the loss of belly fat

-reaches your ab muscles and your back muscles at the same time unlike a regular crunch can do

    2. Not using the ab equipment frequently enough, or at all.

K, I know this seems quite obvious but the fact is, there are people in the world that do this and end up having an ab machine for a dust collector. Maybe they thought it was going to be something else, maybe it's not easily returnable, maybe they lost interest in using it; whatever the case, it becomes useless clutter.

Yet on the other side, I know of people who try out an ab machine, stick to it for a while, and eventually lose interest because the results they were expecting aren't showing at that point. In other words, they don't have the results of the trained fitness model they saw on tv. (Here's something to question, do you actually believe those professional fitness models have the bodies they do from soley using that ab gadget on tv?)

    3. Not practing a healthy diet.

My motto is DIET IS KING as far as fat loss and getting six pack abs is concerned. It is an element that is very much responsible for the amount of belly fat you have hiding (or not hiding) your abs.

If you eat junky processed foods, it doesn't matter how hard you work out, you won't get the results you want and you'll be wasting your time just burning off the crappy food you eat. You'll be in a constant cycle and won't get any significant results.

On the other extreme, if you're not eating enough (because of a "low" whatever diet you're on or you've decided to starve yourself to lose fat) then I really need to tell you that you're doing a lot of harm to your body.

By not consuming enough food, you're not properly feeding your
muscles to maintain themselves. You end up losing all that muscle mass. It is the job of your muscles to convert fat to energy but if they aren't well-fed, your body uses them for fuel.

So basically, no matter how hard you work out on your stability ball, or any piece of exercise equipment for that matter, your body will always end up using the muscle you work hard at building for energy, not for fat loss.

If you have money to waste and don't really care if you're fit or not, then by all means, collect all the ab gadgets you want. But I know that's not you, so don't make these mistakes the next time you want to buy ab exercise equipment.
