The size of your pores is normally determined genetically but you can change the size of your pores. When your pores are full of dirt or oil, they appear larger than normal. Keeping them clean makes your pores appear smaller. A dirt suction tool promises to leave your skin a whole lot cleaner after treatment. A pore cleanser is a product made to get rid of excess dirt and oil from your skin, particularly your face and nose. Here are a few tips which will help you clean your face and let your pores not absorb extra dirt or oil.

Use makeup carefully. Only use the amount that you really need to. Heavy use of foundation makeup causes the makeup to settle into your pores, clogging them and making them appear larger. When using a powder foundation, brush any excess or loose powder off of your face. When using a cream or liquid foundation, apply sparingly and blend carefully.

It's best to use a pore cleanser if your pores are open. You can do this by steaming your face over hot water to loosen them up. Just be careful not to stay too long or you might scald yourself. A hot shower is also okay, if you’re not really keen on hunching over a basin of hot water.

Wash your face twice a day using warm water and a mild soap. And the frequent use of pore cleanser will help you prevent acne skin problems.

Avoid scrubbing your skin hard when washing, but be sure to remove all dirt and makeup at bedtime.

Use an oil-free acne cleanser that contains salicylic acid after washing your face at night. These are marketed under several different brand names.

Saturate a cotton ball with witch hazel and dab it on your face, concentrating on areas where your pores appear large or dirty. It is a good idea to do this twice a day after washing your face.
Exfoliate the skin on your face once a week. Choose a fruit based exfoliator which is less drying and gentler on your skin.

Clean your face thoroughly first before you begin extracting. Make sure no excess dirt or makeup is left on your face before you open your pores, as these can aggravate the situation and result in pimples (which are a lot more annoying!). The recommended use of pore cleansers in around two to three times a week. Doing it everyday is not only tedious but might also cause other infections and inflammations.

Much of the deep seated dirt can be found on T-area or in our cheeks, nose, forehead and chin, so these are the areas you need to concentrate on. Try not to use the pore cleanser on you hairline and eye areas, because your skin is likely to be thinner there. Picking on them might only lead to scarring.

After cleaning your pores, apply moisturizer to soothe your skin. It may feel a little red and tender after the treatment, so you need to make it feel like it has done a good job enduring the pain. Yes, pain. Some of the blackheads and white heads on our skin are so embedded that it will take a while to get them out, even with a fully steamed face and a very good pore cleanser.
