Frequently people rely on a healthy diet to keep their colon clean. Leafy Green Vegetables.There is a reason your mother tried so hard to persuade you to eat your spinach. Studies show that leafy green vegetables such as Broccoli, Spinach, and kale can have a positive effect on the colon. You can eat these types of fresh vegetables in a salad or add them to your favorite meal.
Fruit. Fruits are some of the best, and most delicious foods to keep the colon clean. The various types of fibers do not only work as a broom, but do also help with constipation and to promote regular bathroom habits.
Whole Grains. Grains still containing their hull, and thus the fiber content, are another source of natural colon cleansers. Look for breads with whole grains, and pasta with whole grains.
Besides adding foods beneficial to your colon, avoiding some less than healthy foods is also part of the program. Some foods to avoid are fried foods, fast foods, french fries and hamburgers. Use healthy oils in your cooking, such as canola oil and olive oil.
Avoid ice creams, chocolates and other high calorie foods and make sure you get plenty of exercise. There are many foods that cleanse the colon but overall, the most effective way to flush your colon is to maintain a healthy diet and stay fit through exercise.
