Wine lovers understand the form and function of a wine rack. Not only are wine racks a functional storage solution for a wine collection, they often serve as an important part of home decor. Wine racks are more handsome and stylish than ever, and various options exist when considering a purchase. Here are a few factors to consider.
When buying a wine rack, first ask yourself how many bottles you wish to store, and how many bottles you have on hand at one time. Since the spectrum of wine racks is expanding, you'll have various options, from table top wine racks to wine racks holding hundreds of wine bottles. You may even want to consider more than one wine rack if your collection is large.
Space and decor are the next factors. With so many stylish wine racks available, there are surely several that fit perfectly for your home. Wine racks can be an intergral part of your space, or can be placed on a table top, or wall mounted, or placed discreetly in a corner. The choice is yours. Ask yourself whether you simply want a functional rack, or whether you wish to incorporate a stylish, contemporary wine rack into your home's decor.
Think about the flow and texture of your home decor. Without question, there's a wine rack that fits perfectly for you. Consider a wooden wine rack if your home decor is rustic or antique oriented. You may want to purchase a steel or brushed metal wine rack if your home trends more modern or minimalist.
Our personal preference is a wine rack that offers display and storage of other wine related items in addition to the wine bottles themselves. In essence, we like a focal point "wine center" with all our wine and wine accessories in one place. Numerous stylish options are available, with ample storage and display options for wine books, wine accessories, wine glasses, and even wine art.
Many wine lovers prefer wooden wine racks, as they're easiest to blend in with most decors. Wooden wine racks come in a variety of wood styles, so your choices are numerous. We prefer an aged wood look to a wine rack, mostly because of the similarity to wooden wine barrels and the winery atmosphere.
You may even wish to consider owning multiple wine racks. This is a common option for those with large wine collections, or those who wish to use one wine rack as a decorative piece with another for simple storage. Still others use one larger wine rack, complemented by a small table top wine rack for easier accessibility.
With numerous styles and price points of wine racks available, your choices are varied. Have a little fun choosing your wine rack, just as you would choosing your wines. Wine is all about enjoyment, and your wine rack can add to your wine enjoyment and the stylish decor of your home.
