    I want to share this amazing elixir with all of you. It has been a standby throughout my life whenever I've come down with colds or flus. The recipe was handed down from my mother.

    Cut up some oranges, mandarins, satsumas, lemons, grapefruit or any other citrus fruit you like. Transfer it all to a big jug and add any or all of the following ingredients:

    ginger root cut up

    garlic chopped up

    whisky or brandy or any other tipple you prefer

    a generous gob of honey

    If you like you could add herbs and spices of your choice. Then pour boiling water over it all and brew like tea. Then drink as much as you can and as hot as you can take until you feel better. The pot can be topped up with fresh boiling water until it becomes too diluted to drink. You can then chop up some more ingredients and start the process again!

    This cold and flu recipe acts like magic. I highly recommend it.

    Fabulous Garlic

    This herb is the number one item on my list of the finest foods for detoxification. Garlic is a great cleanser and sterilizer of the digestive tract, creating a harmonious environment within it. It's cleansing, cooling and soothing. Nasty fats and cholesterol deposits are removed, the liver is cleaned and encouraged to health and settles the other digestive organs. Garlic also cleans out the arteries, improves the skin, one's overall health and balance of the mind.

    One clove a day is the recommended ingestion. Although most use it in their cooking, such as frying it with onions, this destroys the benefits of garlic.
