Sweet empanadas might contain fruits, pumpkin, or cream. Empanadas can be served as a snack, a breakfast food, or a dessert, depending on the contents.

    Chocolate has been popular in Mexico for centuries. First, the Mayas enjoyed it and then the Aztecs did. Chocolate was very important to the Aztec because they used it for currency as well as a food. The Spanish acquired chocolate from the Aztecs and returned with it to Spain. It then became the main ingredient in the king's official drink.

    The Aztecs made a variety of drinks with the chocolate, which also included nuts, seeds, and honey. Champurrado is a chocolate drink that is very popular at breakfast time in Mexico. It is warm and thick. You can find people in the morning buying a cup by street vendors. It is also considered a dessert, which can be served with Churros.

    The Yucatan is the home of sapotes dulces. Sapotes are a Mexican fruit and it is rare to find them elsewhere. The flesh is orange and the fruit is creamy, juicy and tastes of vanilla and coconuts with a slight tart flavor too. It is hard to describe just how good a sapote is! Sapotes dulces is a dessert made using the flesh of the sapote fruit. It is mixed with sugar, orange juice, and rum and served cold. It tastes wonderful and is simple to make yourself.

    Cajeta is syrup made in Mexico that's main ingredient is caramelized milk. The process of making the syrup consists of slowly cooking down the sweetened liquid until it is thick. Sweetened milk is the most common ingredient of the syrup. Cajeta is eaten by itself, on pastries, and even as a topping on ice cream. The Hershey Company introduced their own cajeta targeted for Mexican food lovers that live in the United States.

    There are plenty of Mexican desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth, including cakes, chocolates, candies, and cookies. You can research and experiment with Mexican dessert recipes. If you want to try out some of these Mexican delicacies for yourself before making them, you can visit an authentic Mexican restaurant. You might find them at a Mexican grocer. Once you have tried these Mexican treats, you will definitely want to make your own!
