Hair stylists and beauty salons: Finding them online
The internet is vastly popular, and it has a lot to offer you. If you’re not a regular user, or you just use your computer for email and games, you may be surprised at the whole new world that you’ve been missing out on. Sure, the internet is great for chatting, email and even playing an occasional online game, but there’s a whole lot more to it – you can actually find and research local services right from your living room without so much as picking up the telephone.
Today we are specifically talking about how to find hair stylists and beauty salons, but you can pretty much find information on any type of local services, not just hair care. However, for the purpose of continuity – we’ll stick with how the internet can benefit you in finding a local stylist or salon.
The internet – better than newspapers and yellow pages
Before getting into the “how” of finding a suitable hair stylist online, we’ll cover the benefits of seeking out a hair salon on the internet. Probably the biggest benefit of seeking out a stylist online is that you have 24/7 access to information. Let’s say you’ve just moved and need a haircut, or you’re looking for a fresh look and you want to seek out a new hair stylist, or even some other reason that is causing you to need a new hairstylist.
Instead of hitting the newspaper or pulling out the thick yellow pages, you can just sit in front of your computer and type in a few words… voila, you have a list of local hair salons right in front of you. And, it doesn’t matter if it’s 1pm or 3am, you will be able to check out things like:
• Office hours
• Pictures of the stylists/barbers
• Maps/directions to the salon
• Products and services offered by the salon
• Background information on the business
The internet allows you to have an exorbitant amount of information about local hair stylists at the tip of your fingers literally 24 hours a day; talk about convenience.
How to find beauty salons and hair stylists online
There’s a couple of ways to go about this. One way is to go to your favorite search engine and perform a search for your city name and hair salon, for instance, if you lived in Los Angeles, you could search for:
• “Los Angeles hair salon”
• “Los Angeles beauty salon”
• “Los Angeles hair stylist”
Or any other related terminology, but be sure to leave the quotes off. You can use this method if you live in Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, New York or even smaller cities, but often times you’ll have more to choose from when you live in a larger metropolitan area.
Another option is that you can use an online hairstylist directory, such as Search Hairstylist, which will list barbers, salon owners and stylists by demographic region. In addition to contact information, these hairstylist directories will often times give you details on the services that the stylists perform, giving you enough insight to help you decide whether a particular stylist will be suitable for you.
The internet is a fantastic tool, and it can be an invaluable time-saver when you learn how to use it to find local services. Hairstylists are a pretty savvy bunch, and you can expect that in a lot of areas, your new hairstylist is only a few clicks of a mouse away.
