When you do use another person to do your desktop publishing projects, don't expect him to read your mind. You need to get all your data together that will explain what your goals are. Get your data and your images together. Give precise instructions of what you want to achieve with your publications. Explain who your readers are and what you want from them.

Be specific, and explain what you sell and the type of images and even the type of graphics, and the colors that you want in your project. Even get the copy ready for this project. Make sure you even have captions for your images, if you have them. The professional you choose will not be able to guess your purpose. So unless you want to learn how to use the desktop publishing software, you need to rely on a professional and you need to express what your needs are.

When you finish be sure you proof read all of your project before you send it to the printer. You want to be sure that the colors and the copy is just as you want it, even if you just plan on printing on your printer. You certainly don't want to have to reprint a hundred pieces that could be expensive.
