If you own or use a laptop you know how hard it is to keep your battery fully
charged, especially when you are on the go all the time. To keep your battery
charged and ready to go simply follow the suggestions listed here and you will
not have to worry about battery failure when you are using your laptop.
To get you started you should know that your laptop should be plugged in to the
AC power adapter whenever possible, this way you will know that your laptop is
fully charged and ready for use.
Keep your laptop out of extreme weather, in other words don't let your laptop
set in your car while you are at work if it is extremely cold outside. The
colder the laptop battery is the slower it will run. Also, avoid the extreme
heat, batteries of any kind are not meant to be in the heat as this could
damage the battery.
By keeping the use of your laptop to a minimum you will have more battery
life when you need it. This will help because you will be using less battery
power. If you must use your laptop for extended periods of time, be sure to
recharge the battery as often as needed. A battery that is fully charged is a
better battery to have, for this will cut back on the fear of losing your
unsaved data.
When you are using your laptop be sure to keep the time settings down, this is
so when you are not using the laptop it will go in to what is known as hibernation
mode. Also, make sure you are closing any programs that are not being used, the
more programs that are open the slower your computer will run and the less time
you will get out of the battery.
Any time you see the battery is low on charge you should plug it in to the AC
power adapter. Taking care of the battery will also help in the battery life.
Keeping it clean with compressed air and a cotton swab will wipe away any dust
or dirt particles that are on the case and that could enter the computer. If
dust and dirt enters the internal parts of the computer it could spell disaster.
Lastly, if you use your laptop more than you use your desktop computer, you
may want to look into purchasing another battery to keep with you at all times.
A spare battery is meant to ensure that you will not lose any unsaved data.
Take care of you laptop battery and it will have a longer life than most laptop
batteries ever see.
