Now days everybody has an mp3 player. In fact it is hard to know somebody that doesn't' own one. There are many different types of player and brands that range from different sizes to different storage options. I will go over all the different types of the cheapest portable mp3 players available today and what would be best for you.
Should you pick a cheap portable mp3 player with memory built in or a hard drive? Well that really depends on you. Most memory based mp3 players only have a limited amount around 1GB or less. Which in terms of the amount of songs you can fit on it will range from 200 to 250. If that amount of songs is good with you then I would recommend that you go for it because you will find the cheapest portable mp3 players in this model range. But what if you have more songs than that?
You can go for a player that has the hard drive built in. Most that are on the market today have at least 2 GB of storage which will allow you at least 500 songs. And they also go way up from their.
Do you need portability? If so I would recommend a memory based player. Just because the fact that they are slim and compact and allow you to attach them to you clothing and come with accessories for other attachments. Heck I've even seen some that have the player built into the headphones. Now that is portable.
Now if you want to be able to put you mp3 player in your pocket then the hard rive based mp3 players are perfect. Most of these are very compact now and will easily fit in your pocket. Some of them include the IPOD and Zune. Both of these players are great because you can find old models that are some of the cheapest portable mp3 players on the market. And it just because it is last years model.
Another thing to keep in mind when looking for a portable mp3 player is the weight. If you are primarily looking for a memory based player then this will not be a factor at all. Most of the memory based players are less then half a pound. Some just weigh a few ounces. When looking at a hard drive based player their are quite a few of these that can weight over a couple of pounds. Just keep that in mind when searching for one that you check the weight because if you are trying to run and you have a player that weights a few pounds in you pocket you could end up running out of you pants literally.
Finally you should look at the size of the player. For the most part memory based players are great for size. They are very compact and can fit practically anywhere. Again hard drive based players can have a huge range of sizes. If size is important to you make sure you check this before purchasing.
In closing to find the cheapest portable mp3 player available is up to you because of all the different options that are available today. If you want a small very cheap mp3 player I would go with a memory based player such as the iPod nano. If you are looking for a hard drive based player then the IPOD touch or Microsoft Zune are very good options and have tons of space for that music collection of yours.
