Today there are plenty of portable games consoles a person can choose to play their favorite video games on. However in this particular article we will be taking a closer look at the PSP (Play Station Portable) and why it is certainly one of the most popular of all portable video games consoles.
As with any kind of portable device the biggest problem faced by many people today is how long the batteries are going to last. Yet although the PSP has a very powerful operating system the batteries they use have been specifically designed to allow for much longer play time. Plus even when the batteries do eventually need recharging a person can carry on playing their game whilst this operation is being performed.
However even if the battery does become completely drained it will take on average around 2 hours for it to be fully charged once more. Plus even whilst a fully drained battery is being recharged you can still play all your favorite games on the PSP.
Certainly one of the biggest features to be found on the Sony PSP over other portable games consoles is that you can actually play music that you would be able to play on an MP3 player. However if you want to get the best sound quality out of it when listening to any music on your PSP it is better to purchase a good quality set of headphones to replace those that come with your console. Today many people now not only use their PSP to play games on when traveling or at home but they also use it to listen to all their favorite music as well.
Just like the Nintendo DS the PSP now comes with a wireless feature which means that you have the capability of playing against others with a PSP up to a distance of 100 feet away from each other. Plus you are not restricted to just playing against one person using this feature in fact up to 8 people who have PSP's can play the same game on a wireless connection at any one time.
One of the biggest problems to be faced by many gamers who use portable consoles is that amount of time it takes for theirs to either boot up or upload the game that they want to play. However this is where the Sony PSP differs from other games consoles including the Nintendo DS is that it comes with a "sleep mode" facility. As soon as you hit the button which turns on this feature the PSP will stop and will only recommence booting up or uploading the game from the point when it was stopped when the button has been pressed again.
Another great feature that you will find on the Sony PSP compared to many other portable games consoles it has the ability to allow you to play MP4 formatted movies. However for you to be able to do this you will need to arrange to have the right kind of software to convert the movies in to the right format. There are some sites today where you can download such software for free but be wary as some may come with other unexpected features such as spyware and adware.
So as you can see there are many advantages to be had from owning a Sony PSP compared to the other kinds of portable games consoles now available. But apart from these another major benefit to be had from the PSP is that you know as with all Sony equipment you are going to be provided with good customer and technical support at all times.
Of all the portable games consoles available today the Sony PSP is certainly one of the most popular. If you are interested in learning more about what the Sony PSP has to offer to you then please visit our site by clicking on the links above.
