A two way radio is a radio that can both transmit and receive, unlike a broadcast receiver, which only receives content one way. A push-to-talk button is often present to activate the transmitter. Hand-held portable 2 way radios are often called walkie-talkies or handie-talkies.

There are two frequency bands in use for way radio 2; these are the Family Radio Service (FRS) band and the General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) band. The FRS band is specifically used for short-range communication between 2 way radios. Short range is defined as 2 miles or less. On the other hand, two way radios operating on GMRS transmit at higher power levels. They can transmit over greater distances, almost up to 10 miles under ideal conditions.

There must have been numerous instances when you must have to separate from the group, but after sometime, the group got scattered and it was extremely difficult to trace the people back again. In such a scenario, way radio 2 is the perfect device to trace the people of a group and bring them back together.

Two way radios are also good news for your business, they provide you an even cheaper way to keep in contact with your employees and colleagues and organization members. You can always be in the loop as to what is required for the business proceedings to continue in an informed manner through these radios. So you have a cost-effective way of sustaining easy accessibility among your organization members and the result of this harmonious flow of communication is easy to imagine: smooth operations, more effective handling of projects, and enhanced productivity.

The two way radio is also randomly used in military applications. In fact, these radios were initially restricted to the police only. In course of time, the two way radios have gotten their access to the public and caught up in popularity very fast.

Construction sites are one of the places where way radio 2 is frequently used. Restaurants, government offices, and hospitals are some of the other places where people can stay connected with each other with the help of these radios. Theaters, manufacturing areas, and campuses also witness large-scale use of these 2 way radios. They are also used in all these outdoor activities: hunting, skiing, diving, driving, and biking.

However, two way radios cover only a specific area, but the good thing about the radios is that they are much cheaper than their counterparts. Furthermore, they remain active in certain places like dense forests where mobile phones have no network.

It is extremely essential to keep in touch with your family, friends and employees. With a two way radio, you'll be provided with wireless connectivity and you'll be in touch with others even when you are moving from here to there.
