The Apple iPhone has introduced a great number of new technologies to the cell phone. Sometimes when a product has new technologies it can be difficult to learn them as there is very little information or resources available to help you. One of the things that people find it difficult to pick up at first is some of the handy hints and tips that will help you make the most of the touch screen keyboard.
When you have such a unique feature as the touch screen keyboard, than there are several tips that you must know in order to keep your messages flowing. When you follow these tips than you will be able to type quicker and error free, as well as being able to type easier than ever before. The first of these tips concerns actually typing the letters into the iPhone. When you want to enter a letter, you tap on it; however, the letter isn't placed onto the screen until you lift your finger off of it.
This is actually a very good idea. When using a computer keyboard if you press the wrong key you need to hit backspace and then type in the correct letter. With the iPhone you can simply slide across to the correct letter and lift off your finger to place it on the screen. Once you get used to this you will see how much of a time saver it is.
The keyboard features an automatic correction feature that suggests words as you type. If you want to accept the suggested word then all you need to do is tap either return, space or a punctuation mark. If the suggested word isn't the one you wanted then simply carry on typing the words you intended to.
If you write the same word twice and then tap on them both then the word will automatically be added to the iPhone's dictionary. It will probably take you a good couple of weeks to get all the words that you use most often into the dictionary but once you've done that you will find that typing is very fast indeed.
The last tip has to deal with the capitalization of words. If you want to capitalize the first letter of a word, you simply tap the shift key and then tap the letter you want capitalized, but what happens when you want to capitalize the entire word? This is very easy, and doesn't require you to tap the shift key before each letter. You will want to go to settings and then tap general after that tap keyboard. From there you will tap "Enable Caps Lock," and then when you double tap the shift key it will light up blue, and now you will be able to type in all caps.
