You can have a successful vending machine business selling hot drinks. People really enjoy them all year long. Of course you will be able to sell more of them when it is cold outside. Yet this is a type of vending machine business that should be steady enough all year long for you to make a good deal of money.
There are plenty of locations out there where this type of vending machine would be in demand. Think of places where people gather either indoors or outdoors. Offices are great because people may need an additional cup of coffee in the afternoon. They can't always run to the nearest coffee shop to get it either.
The more selection you can provide customers with, they better off this type of vending machine will do for you. Not everyone likes coffee but you can give them something they do like. Hot chocolate, cappuccino, and even hot tea many do well for them too. Some people don't want too much caffeine so offer some decaffeinated or even fat free options as well.
Whatever hot drinks you choose to offer them, make sure the quality is amazing. I have gotten some great hot drinks from vending machines before. I have also tried some that I don't think would be much better than muddy water from the parking lot. You want to offer them something that find to be very refreshing and that they will eagerly buy again in the future.
You want to be able to offer quality cups and lids for the hot drinks you serve as well. They should be well insulated to keep the products hot. At the same time they need to be protective enough to not burn their hands as they carry them. You can offer collars to slip over the cups as well. Make sure items such as sugar, creamer, and stir sticks are also readily available.
There are some vending machines out there for hot drinks that feature buttons to get those additions from it. This is more convenient than having to supply them separately. You also don't have to worry about them walking off from people that didn't even make a purchase from your vending machine.
One of the drawbacks though with vending machines that sale hot drinks though is the price of them. A quality used machine can run about $3,000. A new one with all the features can run twice that much. They have many detailed parts inside of them that keep them operational. You will need to make sure you have the right skills to complete any necessary repairs.
Be prepared for quite an investment in this type of vending machine though. If you want a new one you will need about $6,000. Used ones run about half of that depending on the age of it and the model. Of course there is financing available but you need to make sure you will be able to afford the payments. Find out how these types of machines work so you can be confident in your ability to keep them operational as well.
