    Most people do have a couple of favorite restaurants they enjoy eating at. They love certain foods that are offered there. In fact, they may go there just for those items and they tend not to try anything new on the menu. So it can be hard for them to swallow when they come in and find you have changed things.

    There are times when you are going to need to make such changes to your restaurant. You may buy different ingredients or you may be looking for ways to save money. It is important though that the quality of what you serve doesn't suffer due to such changes. It is going to affect the amount of money you make if people stop coming in. All of your changes need to be for the betterment of your restaurant.

    If you go about it in that manner, these types of changes are going to help you have a more successful business. People that have been dining with you for years will really appreciate the continued efforts to make their experience even better. Those that are coming in to your restaurant for the first time will be impressed enough to be sure to come back again.

    It is a good idea to evaluate your menu on a regular basis. Are you offering items that aren't good sellers? Maybe you should consider replacing them with a new recipe or a common food item you aren't offering right now. You will need to do some thorough investigating. For example you may offer something new as a special one day. If it does well you can consider adding it to your menu down the road.

    From time to time you may find you need to evaluate your prices at the restaurant. Price changes are sometimes dropped but in most cases they increase. This is due to the increase in the cost of supplies. This has to be passed on some way to the consumer if the restaurant is still going to be making money like before.

    Some restaurant owners choose to only make price increases to those specific foods that are affected. Others choose to raise all the prices but a little bit in order to cover the entire field. These are often smaller increases and they don't affect the overall price at the end of the meal as much.

    When you make these types of menu changes, you need to get new ones printed up. It doesn't look very good when items are crossed out, prices are written in, and old items are still on the menu. This can all be very confusing to your guests. Since it does cost money to make your new menus, go over all the possible changes you need to implement so you won't need to redo them in the near future.

    Menu chances can either have a positive or a negative effect on your restaurant business. What will take place is up to you. It depends on how you handle some of the issues that are going to come up. You need to consider all of your changes from the customers point of view though, not just your own.
