There will always be people traveling to see their families, to spend time with a romantic partner, or to take a vacation. Yet it seems like people do this less and less these days. The number of daily commitments people have is higher than ever before. With most households now having both parents working it can be even tougher to get away.
For bed & breakfast owners though this doesn't have to mean you have too many vacancies. You definitely want to be promoting your business to those that travel for work as well. It may surprise you to find that many individuals spend a third or more of the year on the road for work. They really get tired of living out of suitcases and out of motel rooms.
Your bed & breakfast can offer them a cozy place to stay though were they get more of the comforts of home. If they frequently travel to your area, then they may become a regular customer that you get to know. They will love the personal attention over what they get when they check into a hotel. Chances are they get a different clerk each time they arrive there.
With this in mind, you may want to offer discounts to those that stay at your bed & breakfast for business. It can be a percentage off each stay or maybe a free stay after they have accumulated a certain number of them. If your prices are lower or comparable to the hotels in the area then there is no reason why they wouldn't want to come stay at your bed & breakfast.
In order to reach those who travel for business, you are going to have to make some changes to your marketing strategies. In most cases it will mean doing what you already are and then adding other elements. You want to have your information where ever they can access hotel information. This way when they look for a place to stay they are sure to come across your business.
It is important to keep customers coming into your bed & breakfast. That is the only way you are going to make enough money to stay in business. You need to have multiple steams of advertising out there. This way you are reaching people from all backgrounds. You also want to make your business wonderful in every way possible. This will ensure more repeat customers so you don't have to rely on finding new guests all the time.
This is a very reasonable way to increase traffic to your business and to make money to keep it going. If you want to stop worrying about how to come up with enough money for repairs and the costs, then you have to fill up the rooms. Get the word out there to the business travelers and you will be able to reap the benefits.
The question now of what are you doing to get those who travel to make a reservation at your bed & breakfast should now be clearer. Hopefully you are excited about what you can offer to make everyone happy. Your goal should be to fill up each night and that means reaching all the various groups of people who may be interested in staying at your bed & breakfast.
