What makes some organizations exceptional at consistently offering excellent customer service? What is the secret that makes these companies florish in providing their customers with a great service experience? Time and again the service consistently exceeds the customer's expectations.
There is one single factor that separates these special organizations from the pack. The factor that I am referring to is the people who make up the service team. They are referred to as the super service teams who clearly understand that the customer is the most important person in the building. What truly separates them from the typical service teams is their belief that the top priority in their business is taking care of the customer.
What separates these super teams from the rest is their belief that every service transaction is an opportunity to win the customer. Other companies may be able to match the product and price that they are offering. But what separates them from the competition is their strong focus on customer service. They truly believe that the service they provide will not be matched.
Let's now look closer at the nine traits that separate these super customer service teams from the rest:
1. A super team is there to assist each other
The first noticeable difference in great service teams is their willingness to serve each other. How well they serve customers is a reflection of how well they serve each other.
2. A super team stays positive
Another noticeable trait found in these super teams is the positive attitude that is felt in their organization. They clearly understand that optimism makes the overall environment more welcoming for the customer.
3. A super team picks each other up
Along with having the willingness to serve each other, these super teams also support each other whenever there is a need. The atmosphere is encouraging and brings out the best in each other by the positive support that is felt among the group.
4. A super team enjoys their work
On the most part, employees who enjoy their occupation do so because of the environment and the people who they work with. When these two factors are positive, the job performance improves dramatically for each person. If we are to maintain excellent customer service, it is paramount to create a warm and friendly atmosphere for both employees and customers.
5. A super team respects each other
We will also find a high level of mutual respect among the teams who consistently deliver exceptional customer service. When each team member is respectful toward each other, this attitude will naturally flow to the customer.
6. A super team make service training a priority
Another excellent quality that gives these super teams an edge is their continual focus on training. They understand the importance of wanting to improve. Whatever avenue that they may choose to use, everyone on the team understands that education is important. This desire to learn sets them apart from the competition.
7. A super team reflects expertise
Another excellent quality found in super customer service teams is the expertise they display in their chosen profession. They are true professionals on the job. Because of their knowledge, these super teams are quickly recognized by the customers as true experts.
8. A super team allows for mistakes
Super teams also have the ability to overlook the small human mistakes that are bound to occur from time to time. They understand that errors are going to happen. By allowing a feeling of grace to permeate throughout the organization, people are less stressed in the futile attempt to seek perfection.
9. A super team continually maintains its mission
The last quality noticed in these super customer service teams is their strong belief that serving others is why they exist. Each day they are reminded that the mission of the organization is to serve their customers well.
The strong commitment on customer service is one of the main reasons that they are excellent in the area of serving others. By maintaining this focus, these super teams cannot help but deliver outstanding customer service on a daily basis.
