"Lawn Care". This is a very easy business to start. You can begin with as little as a lawnmower (you have one of those right?, a weed eater. I recomend you get a good one right off the bat. Not a lightweight trimmer but a heavy duty industrial strength model complete with a brush cutting attachment. I know this from experience. I broke the shaft on our small version along with a couple of borrowed tools. I know you are smarter than me when it comes to these things. Hey I'm just a girl right? Oh er um where was I ahh the lesson. The final and most important thing is a fantastic ad in your local free weekly. We only have a small clientel but I know a fellow who made a huge business of this using just that, the free weekly. Never short change yourself, lawn care is a convenience service like mail order and housecleaning services. People are very happy to pay a premium for these types of services. You will never need to compete in this business because to be very successful you only need to be dependable and trustworthy. Your clients will be very happy to see you knowing they can depend on you and that they can go fishing not mowing. You will become magnetic and atract all the work you want. You choose how much you want to partake of. And while we are on the topic of fishing, you will be able to create a schedule that allows you to witness every mornings high tide if that is your desire. That is the most rewarding part...no bosses schedule. You may want to do this in your spare time at first. Imagine having regular clients every year for the spring summer and fall season. Then take the holiday season off and spend it with your loved ones. It is definitely a lesson in budgeting but well worth it. Some even continue through the winter with snow and ice removal or hanging and removing holiday lighting. There are multiple things you can do with youer lawn care business as I learned from a site I searched out. It is a great place to get business forms and advertising tips. You can find them at www.lawncare-business.com I did buy their software and was very pleased with the product. It contains contracts, proposals, estimating tools, advertising tools and tons of other great stuff. I don't know them and I don't get a kickback, just good old word of mouth advertising. Which incedentally is what will keep you in as much work as you want. Everyone knows at least one person who could use good reliable help.
