The ever increasing gas prices also known as gas crisis prompts me to figure a different or modified source for my gas consumption. We need to be clear that the cost to fill up the tank is not dropping in the near future. Every commercial you see from a dealer's lot promotes some gas relief benefit if you buy a car. Major red flag about where this is going.

The recent historical data has shown us the steady rise in crude oil prices. There has not been the demand for pressure to use alternative fuel sources for the masses. Of course hybrids were in production and going green was spoken of, but not anything like now. Even those who complained and fussed about the prices didn't start immediately search ways to increase gas mileage. There is a urgent demand for an alternative to gas car. With the summer travel season getting closer and gas prices constantly rising it is time to be more aware and look for better ways to increase mpg.

I would love to ride a bike to work or walk but like I mentioned, it's 40 miles. Public transportation would save money but the inconvenience of having to re-schedule my day for the stops that are made aren't good since my work schedule can change on a whim. Buying a new hybrid car is not in the current budget. So that brings me to my newest discovery. Convert my car to a hybrid and use a water powered engine. Initially I laughed when my mechanic told me about this 'water car' concept.

To my surprise I found there have been many inventions in the past that explain how to use water as fuel can run your car. Water for fuel, I asked him? How can you run your car on water? He explained the following: "There's a way to use electricity from the battery to split the water molecule and create a gas called Brown's Gas. Another name for this reaction is called hydroxyl. It's like making a hydrogen generator, the car actually runs smoother, produces less emissions and increases fuel efficiency. Only a quart of water is needed and apparently lasts for months.

Better gas mileage is achieved by using HHO to power the car instead of just your standard octane fuel. Electricity from the car battery separates water to make Brown's Gas or hydroxyl. All of this happens with just a quart of water and will maintain the car for many months.

There are many manuals and do-it-yourself kits available that detail the items needed from the hardware store. Expect to spend around sixty dollars for everything. Don't worry about being a mechanic to complete the job because it is not that intensive. Converting the car to use water as fuel can be switched back at any time to run on gas.

If this works then it would pay for itself in a month or so and the savings would continue for as long as the gas crisis. Some of the benefits are an increase gas mileage, increase in your car's fuel efficiency which of course saves you money at the gas station. The other great part about converting your engine is the government can't put any extra tax on you for running your car on water. If we don't find ways to get better mpg the cost of all consumer goods will continue to rise. Alternative fuel sources will have to be considered by everyone that's concerned with a struggling economy.

High gas prices are forcing everyone to consider how wasteful we are. If water powered engines take over the streets, you get your money back in a couple of months after the initial investment for the manual and parts. In this instance the benefits far outweigh the cost. Alternative fuel sources will gain popularity as the months go on. We can only hope this doesn't go so far to stop us all from getting out there and traveling to enjoy friends and family this summer.
