For beginners there is no other scale easy enough to learn than a blue scale. You can ask people about the hand position and the pattern required playing the tone or you can search the internet for more detail.

You can easily learn the blues scale basic so you need to practice a bit on it. When you have got your hand set on the basic tone than you can move over the next set of tones in a blue scale. This way you can learn and then move on with good amount of practice.
