One of the most recognizable instruments in today's modern culture is the guitar. It is not surprising then, that it is also one of the most commonly available instruments to play.

Since the 1500s, the guitar has been in human culture. This is one of the reasons it forms the basis for our modern music culture.

It has three basic types which are the classical guitar, the electric guitar and the acoustic guitar. Also there is the supporting bass guitar that has thicker strings. There are many such variations of guitar all over the world, some with a completely hollow body and some with a lesser number of strings.

Depending on your guitar, you are going to hear a great difference in sound, be it electric or acoustic. Electric guitars are not the only guitar that should be used for a lead role. This theory came out of rock music though.

The melody of a song is what most people think of when recalling songs in their head. They may actually be singing the beat of the song, which is typically played by a bass guitarist.

Melody is what gives music life and substance. You remember the melody more than anything else. Lead guitar is responsible for this, or perhaps drums.

The lead guitarist will use riffs and fills of all kinds to move around the melody that will mold the song. The chords of the song can be most basically practiced with an acoustic guitar.

It is also the first step of any guitar student to master the chords of the basic songs using the acoustic guitars. There are many guitar schools all over the world that nurture talent in music.

With thousands of people enrolling everyday in these schools, the popularity of the guitar is evident. Guitar playing improves with practice.

Some of the best music we know, consists of a guitar melody. How would you like to be that guitar player? If you stick with your practice, you will be a great player.

A perfect way to learn guitar and to relax at the same time, is to play your instrument after a long day's work. It brings peace and comfort to the musician. Just give it a try next time you find yourself stressed out.
